You are guaranteed a memorable and enthralling experience in this fascinating country where horses are the kings of the Pampas!
Argentina is the eighth largest country in the world which extends from tropical forests in the north to the giant glaciers in the south as well as the spectacular Atlantic coast line in the east and the awe-inspiring Andes in the west. The diversity in the topography and climate offer the visitor a grandiose and impressive scenery which will certainly not leave you indifferent. Not only is Argentina famous for its horses and horsemen but also the fine wines and excellent cuisine. You will be able to admire the vast, prestigious stud farms along with the huge cattle ranches in the Pampas, managed by the proud, taciturn gauchos who are only too pleased to demonstrate their equestrian skills.
Buenos Aires is the capital and is often known as the ‘Paris of South America’. The wide boulevards and avenues lined with buildings in the nineteenth century, French style of architecture make it a delightful city in which to ramble. From the renovated old port with its restaurants and outdoor cafés to the exclusive boutiques in Recoleta and Florida exudes a sophisticated lifestyle which is famous throughout South America. The heart of the city is the Plaza de Mayo which is dominated by the Casa Rosada, the President’s official residence and it was from the balcony of this pink edifice that Eva Peron delivered her speeches to the people of Argentina. San Telmo market is also another memorable visit with its antique fair and where one can admire Tango dancers demonstrating their talents in the open air square.
Not only can you enjoy the racing in Buenos Aires but also admire some of the worlds most majestic landscapes and taste some of the country’s exclusive wines. A trip to remember combining racing, stud visits, tourism, nature and relaxation.
Beyond this stylish metropolis, one can visit the astounding Iguazu falls in the north on the Brazilian and Paraguayan borders. These impressive waterfalls belong to a national park and can be heard from afar as the water thunders down over the jungle allowing a lingering mist to rise above it. One can visit them from above on foot or underneath in a raft, both visits are worth while to admire mother nature at her best. The tour would not be complete without a visit to Southern Patagonia where again nature takes over to offer the tourist some of the worlds finest landscapes at the ‘Lago Argentino’ covered by blue icebergs. The 30,000 year old Perito Moreno glacier is the only permanently moving glacier in the world and covers an area of 40 kilometres along with the Upsala and Onelli glaciers.
